WRITER
As a writer for The Edge Magazine, you will write for one of five subsections on a weekly basis: Fashion, Lifestyle, Features, Travel, or Beauty & Wellness. You are expected to write one short-form article per week for our website. In addition, you will pitch several article ideas for the semester’s print issue. If your pitch is selected, you will write a long-form piece, which will be printed in the issue, as well as have hands-on involvement at the photoshoot that accompanies your article. To be considered for the writer position, you must submit 3 writing samples in addition to your resume and completed application.

PHOTOGRAPHER
As a photographer for The Edge Magazine, you must be fluent using a DSLR camera. Owning your own DSLR is preferred, but not required. You are expected to photograph at least two shoots over the course of the semester and edit the photos for the print issue. Shoots typically happen on weekends and last 1-2 hours each. To be considered for the photographer position, you must submit a 10+ piece photography portfolio in the form of a single PDF or digital portfolio in addition to your resume and application.

DESIGNER
As a designer for The Edge Magazine, you must be fluent in using Adobe InDesign and must be able to think creatively and strategically in terms of laying out a page of text and images. You are expected to design the layout for 2-3 spreads per semester. The ability to do some light photo and copy editing is preferred but not required. To be considered for a designer position, you must submit a 3+ piece design portfolio in the form of a single PDF or digital portfolio in addition to your resume and application.

VIDEO EDITOR
As a video editor for The Edge Magazine, you will work closely with the Director of Videography and will have creative freedom when it comes to producing video content. Basic video editing experience is a must, but fancy video equipment is not. We are looking for someone to produce—at the very least—three behind-the-scenes, vlog-style videos over the course of the semester. To be considered for the video editor position, you must submit at least one sample of your videography work in addition to your resume and application.

SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT
As a Social Media Assistant for The Edge Magazine, you will report directly to the Social Media Director and will be responsible for producing eye-catching, relevant, and engaging content for our online presence—Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc. You will be assigned to produce content for one of three sections: Video & Photography, Fashion & Beauty, or Lifestyle, Features & Travel. We are looking for someone who has an eye for visual appeal as well as experience with managing a social presence. ANALYTICAL ASSISTANT
As an Analytical Assistant for The Edge Magazine, you will report directly to the Analytics Directors and will be responsible for making creative suggestions based on data and research, following analytical trends, and collaborating with the social media team to develop online strategies. Applicants studying analytics are preferred. Please note that this position requires a time commitment of a minimum of 2-3 hours per week. In this position, you will be required to conduct research and compile weekly/monthly reports on The Edge’s social media presence and online site. ASSISTANT COPY CHIEF
The Assistant Copy Chief for The Edge Magazine works directly with the Copy Chief and will be responsible for copy-editing all published articles on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for hosting writing workshops and teaching proper writing techniques to writers, editors, etc. A strong understanding of grammar and writing style is necessary, although previous experience in an editing role is not required.

MAKEUP ARTIST
A Makeup Artist for The Edge Magazine works directly with the Executive Stylist and will be responsible for doing makeup for print shoots during the month of October. You do not need to meet with The Edge every week, but rather touch base with the style team, Creative Director and Editors-In-Chief about upcoming shoots. Some sort of experience doing makeup is required to apply.

Executive Stylist
An Executive Stylist for The Edge Magazine will be responsible for doing outfitting and styling for print shoots and coordinating with make-up artists during the month of October. You do not need to meet with The Edge every week (unless you want to!), but rather touch base with the style team, Creative Director and Editor-In-Chief about upcoming shoots. Some sort of experience doing styling and makeup is required to apply.
