Every member, reader and follower of The Edge has the opportunity to speak up about the current injustices happening in our country and around the world. As a student-run publication and a part of the Elon University community, we are privileged to have a space that promotes diversity, equality, discussion and change. We all have strong voices that can be shared not only with our generation but with everyone of any age, gender, race and identification. The Edge stands with and supports Black lives and those being oppressed and we vow to do better. We will work to educate ourselves and our readers and to include voices that have not had opportunities to be heard.
Elon University stresses that we are global citizens. That we must beneficially impact our Elon community, then the North Carolina community, then the United States community and so on. The Edge falls within these communities and it is our responsibility to also uphold the notion that we can and should beneficially contribute to the community.
We want our platform to be a space for discussion, education and a place to promote the change that needs to occur. We invite you to submit opinion pieces, stories, educational resources you have tried and other pieces of information you think can help continue the much needed discussion for change and equality, to elonedge@gmail.com. We hope to create a space for collaboration and education and encourage you to help us do so.
