WTF is Manifesting?

Okay. All of your favorite YouTubers have talked about it, Goop wrote an article about it, you saw Refinery29 post an Insta story about it...so what exactly is manifesting?
Manifesting is intentionally creating what you want. Whatever you focus your thoughts and actions on will manifest itself into your daily life. The ~manifesting~ we’ve been seeing lately is all about being aware and taking control of your manifesting.
Surprise! You’ve been manifesting all your life
Whether we know it or not, every second of our existence, we are acting as human magnets sending out thoughts and emotions while attracting back what we put out! All of your thoughts and actions have led you to where you are now. But, now you’re being conscious of manifesting, so you can be more intentional and positive in your thoughts. So, those posts and shirts you see that say ~good vibes only~ aren’t completely basic, they’re just talking about the Law of Attraction!
Choose what to manifest
No, you can’t manifest to have a million dollars dropped on your doorstep and expect it to be there tomorrow morning. Choose something small, but nonetheless meaningful to you and your plans. Examples are: a new relationship, a financial boost, more happiness into your life.
Affirmations
Like we said earlier, manifesting is based on the Law of Attraction: what you put out in the universe will get returned to you. Saying these out loud helps your brain wrap around the idea, and you’re verbally putting your intents into the universe. Some simple ones are “I am enough”, “Today is gonna be a great day”, and “Nothing is put before me that I can’t handle”. Of course, you can tailor these to fit your manifestations.
Visualize that ish
Two words: vision board. Build a clear vision of what it is you want. Imagine all the associated feelings you have with your manifestation, sights, colors, feelings. The Kardashians create vision boards at the start of each year to visualize their goals. It’s never too late to start!
“As If”
Calling all Clueless fans, UGH! AS IF! Just kidding, we actually want to have the opposite attitude that Cher did in that scene. Act as if you already have the thing you’re manifesting. By pretending you don’t need it or if you already have, it’ll help the universe want to grant you the goal.
Manage what you have
Before taking on the manifestation of something new into your life, you need to be aware of what you already have. For example, if you’re manifesting love into your life, focus on receiving the love you already have in your life, and being loving to others.
*Bonus tip*
Start a gratitude journal to make this easier! It can be a simple as you’re grateful for the cup of coffee you had before your 8AM. This way you are actively thinking of things in your life that you’re already happy to have. This boosts your positivity, which will help your manifestation
