Your Black Friday Survival Guide

Our favorite holiday is coming up! No... i’m not talking about Thanksgiving, i’m referencing to when the clock hits midnight and Black Friday begins. Black Friday is one of the few nights of the year that I let myself impulse buy every clothing item I desire (at least the only night I will admit to doing this…). Let’s face it, we all need some time for rejuvenation, and what coping mechanism is better than retail therapy? Need a new pair of lululemon “Wunder Under’s” or a boujee teddy bear jacket? Black Friday is the solution. Black Friday is your day to treat yo’ self, so enjoy the finer things in life as your bank account balance gracefully plummets.

1.Sign up for emails

Companies like Princess Polly and Urban Outfitters will give pre-sales to customers on their email list. We know the email spams get super annoying, but after Cyber Monday ends you can unsubscribe. Personally, I stay on the lists for announcements from my favorite stores to be the first to know when more sales happen during the year. This hack is extremely useful for all brands you love. For instance, did you know that Tobi has a Pre-Black Friday sale going on now for 50% their best items?

2. Check in Stores

No one likes waiting in the Victoria’s Secret line on a weekend, especially not during the holidays. If you can keep your patience through all those shopping-induced heat flashes, you can score sick doorbusters like free tote bags and slippers! Some stores like lululemon will have more items on sale in store rather than online; last year, I found a pair of high quality leggings for $50 off the original price! I can definitely attest that it pays off shopping in store to rack off some amazing price points. American Eagle Outfitters and Abercrombie also have a higher percentage off for customers who shop in store during the first 12 hours of the day, specifically 10% more. As Paris Hilton says, “Fashion is the only sport I need.”

3.Shop with a Friend

Making purchases with your BFFs in pajamas at 3 in the morning will gives off some serious Beyoncé “Formation” vibes. Seriously, you can never go wrong with a second opinion from someone who will know what you are actually going to wear. If you and your friend are the same size, you can share that gorgeous cable knit sweater and no one has to worry about accidentally twinning.
