Pretty Little Secrets Series: The Secret to Easier Flights
There’s nothing like the excitement of going on a trip! Airports are naturally stressful because most things are out of your control, from how long the lines are to the length of time it will take you to get through security. The best way to take your travel experience to the next level is by being prepared with what you can and take some matters into your own hands.
1.) I cannot stress enough the importance of wearing comfy shoes. You do not want to deal with the weight of your carry on as well as blisters while trudging to your gate. Make sure your shoes can be taken off and put back on easily. Plus, sneakers are ideal so you can wear socks for a cleaner walk through the security machines.
2.) Bring a great, small tote or roomy bag that can fit your essentials: headphones, charger, wallet, deodorant, breath mints, a book, etc. It’s a great way to make sure all of your things are easily accessible at any given moment. It also wouldn’t hurt to bring a mini throw blanket or pashmina to make your air time cozy.
3.) Bring snacks! Airports always sell them, but it doesn’t hurt to have your favorite protein bar or candy on hand. Also, it can save you time which you can then spend relaxing at your gate. If you have a long layover, don’t be afraid to venture out to restaurants within the airport you’re at. You could be pleasantly surprised to find options beyond the average burger and fries.
4.) Download the airline’s app in order to stay updated throughout the day on any changes that could be made for your flight. Plus, it is a great way to keep track of your checked bags.
5.) Dress for comfort! It is important to have clothes you can easily move around in. Darker clothes are better in case you ever spill a drink on them during the day. Long thin sleeves or layers are ideal in case it is too cold on the plane. Also, packing a hat that can fit in your bag like a beanie is ideal to prevent your hair from messing up as it keeps it tame.
6.) Find the right balance of staying extremely hydrated and drinking your delicious coffee. You have to stay awake and alert before you board, but be careful not to overdo it on the espresso!
7.) Download your music playlists and podcasts before your trip. It’s a great way to drown out any annoying sounds. It can also help you relax on the plane even more.
I hope these tips help make your next traveling experience the best yet! Catch you on the next installment of Pretty Little Secrets.
