Two Families. One Goal.
Elon University has hundreds of organizations on campus for students to become involved with. Many of these organizations gives students the opportunity to showcase their talents. Sweet Signatures and Elon’s Finest are two all-female groups that serve our campus in different ways.
Sweet Signatures is an a capella group on campus and Elon’s Finest is a hip hop dance team. Both of these groups perform at many events around campus and sometimes even at one another’s events!
But, there is something special about each team, which they get to share with one another, and that is how they are both a family on Elon’s campus.
Shelby Rosenberg, a senior on Finest said she’s “so appreciative to have had this team in my life for the past four years. I’m going to miss dancing and having fun with my favorite people every week.”
Elon’s Finest practices every Tuesday and Thursday, and before practice begins, they circle up to share any announcements and catch up, but they always end up laughing non-stop before it is time to start dancing.
Caroline Moore, sophomore and vice president of Sweet Signatures, said that her group “really just makes Elon feel like home. They support me and love me, plus we just all have so much fun together. The friendships I have made these past two years will last a lifetime.”
Sweet Signature also does a circle up before practice begins, however they are asked a different question each time by senior Jess Pusch. This week’s question was to describe your day in three words.
Both Sweet Signatures and Elon’s Finest share such a special bond on their teams, but they also help our campus come together in unique ways. By sharing their talents with other organizations on campus, they help make events entertaining and inspiring.
These women show us the importance of finding something we love and sharing it with those around you. So, find a group on campus, and let those people inspire you to be your best self and help create a family for you here at Elon.
