Fall’s sudden arrival in North Carolina has many people thinking of fun things to do with friends to celebrate the cooler weather! If you’re bored and at a loss for things to do, hopefully this will help you out.
The 2019 North Carolina State Fair, being only an hour away, is the PERFECT activity to do with friends! They have every food vendor you can think of along with small roller coasters. (Our favorite part is the rescued cows, sheep, and even llamas!)
If you haven’t checked it out already, add Hanging Rock to your to-do list. Another hour-long drive will take you to a hike that leads up to a literal hanging rock for the perfect photo opportunity and a stunning view of North Carolina.
If you’re looking for the pinnacle of fall activities, look no further! Millstone Creek Orchards is a farm that has all of your fruit picking needs in one place. They specialize in apple picking, but they are also growing pumpkins until December!
For all the animal lovers out there, this one's for you. M&M Alpaca Farm is 50 minutes away and is home to 30 Alpacas that can no longer live in the wild. If you are interested in stopping by make sure to call and make an appointment!
If the weather is a little too cold for an outside activity, consider watching a movie with some friends! Graham Cinemas is a vintage movie theater and is only 15 minutes away from campus. All current movies are still playing, but having a cozy vintage feel really is the cherry on top!
If you are in the mood to spend the day shopping for a new fall wardrobe, you’re in luck. Not only can you check out Friendly Center in Greensboro, you can also head to The Streets at Southpoint in Durham! Both of these locations are an indoor/outside shopping center with every store you could dream of. If these locations are a little too far, the Tanger Outlets in is are always a safe bet!
