The Sherpa Struggle

When the days begin to get shorter and the leaves start to turn beautiful tones of red-orange and yellow, there is nothing better than feeling snuggled. And no, not by a cute boy (although that is nice too) but from a warm fuzzy sherpa coat.

This trend originated a couple of years ago with the popularization of the trendy IMGia teddy coat. Shortly after we saw the coat pop up in every major fast fashion store. Today, in the colder months of 2019, the trend is emerging as still en-vouge. Stores such as target and Urban Outfitters already have a large assortment of sherpa apparel and accessories on display. And our favorite ‘it’ girls such as Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber have been frequently spotted sporting the cozy trend.

Beyond the traditional teddy coat, Sherpa is now found in an assortment of items. Sweatshirts, sweatpants, and even bucket hats have begun to flood fashion stores. You can even find the trendy look in your favorite athletic appeal stores like Lulu Lemon and Athleta; it’s the perfect way to keep you warm on your way to work up a sweat.

The variation of items available in Sherpa proves that despite the popularity of the trend you can still rock it in your own way, and don’t have to worry about showing up in the same basic jacket that everyone now has (we all know the jacket). It’s also a way to explore your own personal style and creativity. Adding tiny elements of Sherpa items to your look can give it a major cozy appeal. Boys will be begging you to snuggle.

So, the jury has deliberated and Sherpa it officially in for a second year in a row. So, to celebrate, share your favorite Sherpa styles with us by tagging #Elonootd
