3 Thanksgiving Episodes To Help Fuel Your Food Coma
The smell of cranberry sauce, the cooking of the turkey, the dreaded conversations with your distant relatives - Happy Thanksgiving! The two most important things about Thanksgiving are the bird and the ball game - the football game (in case you didn’t know). For those who are not the biggest sports fans, there is a lack of instruction on what to do after the big feast. Here is where The Edge saves the day! These are our completely objective, highly unbiased ;) best episodes about Thanksgiving. Bon Appetit!
PARKS AND REC
“Harvest Festival”
The “Harvest Festival” is one of the best episodes to watch. The small town of Pawnee, Indiana celebrates the new harvest the only way they know how - Food and Lil Sebastian (RIP), the best horsey character there ever was. The characters’ love for each other and the town of Pawnee is really apparent. Just like every show set in New York City has a fifth character, the city, Parks and Rec’s own Pawnee shows off its quirkiness. If none of this appeals to you, watch for Chris Pratt and Chris Pratt alone.
GILMORE GIRLS
“Deep fried korean thanksgiving”
Hands down our favorite episode ever. Gilmore Girls should only be watched in the fall curled up to your loved ones reminiscing about amazing early 2000’s fashion. Welcome to Stars Hollow, the quintessential small town of Connecticut. All of our favorites - Emily, Sookie, Luke and Mrs. Kim are hosting Thanksgiving, and Rory and Lorelai have made it their mission to attend each one. There is so much to unpack from this episode - Lane’s first kiss, the Jess phase and Luke and Lorelai’s will they/won't romantic relationship. Every part of this makes it a holiday episode for the ages! Rory and Lorelai’s relationship is hands down mother-daughter GOALS, making it a perfect girls day activity with your mom over Thanksgiving break. Get ready for the best wit and sarcastic writing.
Gossip Girl
“Blair Waldorf Must Pie!”
Agh, the first season of Gossip Girl. We get to witness Nate Archibald in a school uniform, countless cat fights between besties Blair and Serena, and Jenny before she turned goth. A true age of innocence! In this episode, there is truly nothing better than seeing Rufus and Lily squeam at the thought of spending Thanksgiving together given their complicated relationship history. Dan is truly trying to do a good deed, but nothing is anything but complicated on the Upper East Side. Nate’s dad getting arrested, Blair’s dad visiting and Chuck, being Chuck, makes for the best recipe for disaster. In what should be the most pie-full day of the year turns into a level five shopping trip to Barney’s, a true emergency. Xoxo, Gossip Girl.
