Tiny Accessories are Making a Big Statement

We’re talking about handbags so teeny they can barely fit your Airpods! The trend of micro accessories continues to shrink smaller and smaller. This trend first made its resurgence with the infamous email Kanye sent to Kim.

“You cannot wear big glasses anymore. It’s all about tiny little glasses.”

Taking inspo from the cult classic 90s movie, “The Matrix,” these mirror-lens, miniature frames look impossibly cool on everyone. We love pairing these shades with hot mini skirts and any type of hip, trendy top.

Yet, we suggest that these accessories are not for recreational use but rather for parties and flirty outfits. Tiny sunglasses, though, are getting major competition from tiny bags. Jacquemus first debuted the micro handbag at the 2019 Paris Fashion Week. Acting as a status signifier, these bags imply that you are too important to hold your own belongings.

They were later seen on the runway with Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Versace. But, don’t worry. You can cop this vibe at a more affordable price at Urban Outfitters and Forever 21. Cute and adorable, micro bags are perfect to accompany your outfit with bold colors such as striking reds and pinks.

It seems as if this blast to the past is an emerging behavior within the industry as we take pulls toward nostalgic fashion. This is a reminder of our childhood and a way to prolong our youth through the magic of fashion. We long for the simpler times when we only needed a tiny bag to hold our fake lipgloss palette when dressing up as toddlers.
