Summer Smoothie Recipes We're Loving

Summer in North Carolina means temperatures already in the 80s by the end of April! Smoothies are a quick and refreshing snack that gets us even more excited about the warm weather. Not only are they refreshing and delicious, but smoothies are also a cheap and easy snack for college students. They require few ingredients and minimal equipment for dorm living or busy internship life. Here are four of our favorite yummy and healthy smoothie recipes to set the mood for the sunny, 80 degree weather! 

Tropical:

  • ½  frozen banana

  • ½ cup frozen pineapple 

  • ½ cup frozen mango 

  • ½ an orange, peeled

  • ½ cup unsweetened Greek yogurt

  • 1 cup unsweetened milk (nut, soy, animal)

Green:

  • ½ a frozen banana

  • ½ cup green grapes

  • 1 peeled kiwi

  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves

  • ½ cup ice

  • 1 cup unsweetened milk (nut, soy, animal)

Power Berry:

  • ½ a frozen banana

  • ½ cup frozen mixed berries

  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves 

  • 1 scoop whey protein powder

  • ½ cup unsweetened Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon of nut butter (almond or peanut butter recommended) 

Peanut Butter Banana:

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter

  • 1 cup unsweetened milk (nut, soy, animal)

  • 1 cup ice
