7 Fashion Trends that Really, Really Gotta Stay in 2019

New Years and New Years Eve were filled with sparkles and champagne as we rung in the new year with our favorite party attire. However, even though we are beginning the new decade on a high fashion note, 2019 trends are starting to trickle back in. We have compiled a list of 7 we think should totally stay out of 2020.

Fila Disruptors

There is a reason this is one of the most polarizing trends and you probably could have guessed these would be the first on this list. Yet people continue to wear them, and I simply do not understand.  I don’t think this needs any more explanation.

Gucci Belts

High end clothing and accessories are great investments to make for yourself, if that’s where you like to put your money.  But in 2020, let’s all make a valiant effort to leave the belts behind. Everyone has them. We all know what they look like.  It does not make your outfit any more fashionable. And stop wearing them to frat parties

Why are people paying $400 for a tshirt that says “GUCCI” or a bag that has “BALENCIAGA” basically painted onto the side as if it wasn’t supposed to be there.  If you have the means to afford something designer, maybe put some thought into what you want to purchase. Don’t just buy the one thing that screams the brand name for the sole purpose of flexing on others.

Off-White Utility Belts

Why do you have a seat belt around your waist? Why didn’t you leave it in the car? Were you in that much of a rush? They also just simply do not match ANY outfit whatsoever.  I’d rather see a Gucci belt than one of these.

Victoria’s Secret Swimwear

This doesn’t necessarily constitute as a trend.  But since the formerly discontinued line of swimwear from this controversial and not very progressive brand decided to bring it back in 2019, I figured I would mention it. I genuinely do not know what could have impaired these designers’ judgement so horribly.  You can take a look here to see what kind of horrors Victoria’s Secret committed in the revamp of their swimline.

Mickey Mouse Fashion Collaborations

This one really boggles my mind. Why, oh why would someone allow an otherwise stylish sweatshirt or handbag to be ruined by a creepy little mouse slapped on the front of it? And I’m not talking about children’s clothing.  I’m talking about the stuff made for adults. From Zara to Ray Ban to Kith, all these brands have created a line with the character. It’s not cute and I hope someone has the strength to say “no” when Disney comes knocking asking for a collab.

Snakeskin Print

This is one trend that was fun while it lasted, but then the world took it way too far.  What started as a fun, edgy print to mix into your wardrobe now looks about just as basic as a Gucci belt.
