Online Shopping 101: Zara Denim Guide
I’ve purchased enough denim from Zara in my time to prepare an ultimate guide. It’s no secret the Zara site can be confusing and hard to navigate. How is anyone supposed to know which jeans run true to size and which don’t? And what jeans actually look good on a non-model. Luckily, I’m here to help!
Sizing
It’s so hard to buy jeans online, it’s so much easier when you are able to actually try a pair on in person and feel them out. Jeans can be pricey, it’s important you love the pair you’re getting because you’ll likely be wearing them a lot, so a pair that is too big on you is not going to work. Unfortunately, buying in store is not really an option right now with Covid, so it’s important to really do your research before an online order.
In my personal experience, I’ve found most Zara jeans run a bit small. I always size up one size when buying jeans, and if they are a little too big, I stick them in the wash and dryer. As for length, I’ve noticed a lot of my friends have had to get their jeans hemmed when buying a full length. Full-length jeans are very in right now, but I am 5’10” and some Zara jeans drag on the ground on me, meaning other people definitely struggle with the length. An ankle-length jean could fit more like a full-length jean for someone who’s a little shorter.
My Favorite Jeans
Considering the trends right now, my 2 favorite jeans are wide-leg and high waisted. I find this style fits me best and is so easy to play around with. I wear absolutely everything with this style.
The best denim I have ever purchased in my life is the wide leg high rise jeans (Blue 0/6688/225/400/34). I bought these about a month ago, then constantly kept seeing them blow up on TikTok and now everyone seems to have them, and I understand why! I wear these almost every day it seems (oops). They feel so comfortable on and go with anything. They are the perfect amount of wide-leg to wear every day. But fair warning, if you’re on the shorter side, be prepared to wear these with heels!
My second favorite pair is slightly more fun. I love how wide-legged they are-it makes me feel like I’m in the ’70s! I don’t get as much wear out of these as I do the first pair, but I like wearing them with a tighter and more cropped top. I also LOVE the length on these but, again, I am very tall so keep that in mind! These are Light Blue - 5862/166.
I am constantly impressed with the quality of Zara jeans! Zara is my new go-to for denim because of their price and look. I feel like they are constantly coming out with new styles that stay up to date with the new trends.
