U.S. Mountain Towns Worthy of a Visit

With the leaves changing colors and the temperatures starting to drop, we all want to burst out of our homes and go to the mountains for a vacation. And we know you do, too. So, we compiled a short, but sweet list of three mountain towns you should consider visiting while this dreamy fall weather lasts. Trust us, they’re vacationer-approved.

Jackson Hole, WY.

Nestled in between Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, Jackson Hole is one of the dreamiest mountain towns to visit in the United States. You have the opportunity to either stay on a ranch and have a more ‘rustic’ experience, or treat yourself and stay at one of the resort and spas located right in town. Either way, you’re guaranteed incredible views and sensational fall weather.

Black Mountain, NC.

Just a short 20-minute drive from Asheville, Black Mountain is a town full of kind people, delicious food and walkable streets. Black Mountain has plenty of Airbnbs you can rent, and we highly recommend that you do so. Booking an Airbnb will also provide you with more of a cabin experience, AKA the perfect fall getaway. Whatever you do and wherever you stay, just make sure to treat yourself to a yummy meal at Black Mountain Bistro.

McCall, ID.

Perhaps one of the most quintessential mountain towns in the world, McCall is located right near the Rocky Mountains, next to a beautiful lake and near multiple ski resorts. The downtown is so fun to walk around and perfect for dropping into yummy bakeries and coffee shops. Or, you can just go and sit by the beautiful Payette Lake. But it’s no matter what you decide to do in McCall, you’re guaranteed a good time. But if we’re going to make a suggestion, you truly cannot go wrong with staying at The Shore Lodge Resort and Spa.

Visiting any of these three mountain towns, or any other typical mountain places you may have heard of, is a great way to slow down and relax. Spending time in sweet and small towns located right by gorgeous mountain landscapes is the best way to unplug and reconnect with yourself, others and nature. So, we encourage you to take a weekend, or a week, away to get outside, slow down and enjoy some good meals with people you love most─and, of course, with a beautiful mountain backdrop.
