New York City is a haven for foodies, but finding the best restaurants in a city of nearly 30,000 is like finding a needle in a haystack. Whether you’re just in the city for a few days or need a starting point on your quest to find your favorite restaurants, we’ve got you covered with some recommendations approved by NYC regulars.

First, let’s talk brunch, because you’ve gotta start the day off right.

JACK’S WIFE FREDA

Jack’s Wife Freda knows how to pull off a good brunch… and lunch… and dinner... Truthfully, we don’t know what else to say─you can really do it all here. From coffee to cocktails, this restaurant is a staple. We recommend admiring (and snapping some pics of) their super unique and day-brightening sugar packets!

Locations: SoHo, Chelsea, West Village

LITTLE COLLINS

The breakfast at Little Collins is jaw-droppingly-good, so no need to go any further for your coffee and avocado toast needs. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced and delicious breakfast, this is the spot for you.

Location: Midtown East

Now, moving on to lunch and dinner. Many of these places are great choices for any time of day, so follow your mood (and your stomach) when visiting these spots.

SCARPETTA

Scarpetta is one of those Italian places you go to and just can’t stop thinking about. The food is reasonably priced for a nice Italian restaurant and the aesthetic is ~very~ Instagram-able. Scarpetta’s outdoor patio is the perfect atmosphere for a lunch or dinner date. If you don’t believe us, check out @scarpettarestaurants on Insta… their pasta pics will make you drool!

LITTLE BEET TABLE

Little Beet Table is a great (and delicious) option if you’re looking for something a little healthier. You can share small plates with friends or opt for your own entree. Either way, you’ll feel great knowing you’re powering your body with great food!

Location: Rose Hill

BEYOND SUSHI

Calling all vegans with a weakness for sushi… you can stick to your diet AND indulge your cravings. Not only are these sushi rolls beautiful to look at, but they’re completely vegan, creative, and delicious. Oh, and Beyond Sushi also offers kebabs, burgers, sandwiches, and pasta─all of which are vegan and reasonably priced.

Locations: Upper East Side, Nolita, Union Square, Midtown West

BLACK TAP

Black Tap’s milkshakes are truly iconic, so this an ideal spot to visit if you have a sweet tooth. The low-priced burgers leave room in your budget to indulge in dessert, making for a great meal. We’ll just name drop one shake: The Brooklyn Blackout Shake. Aren’t you at least a little curious to try it?

Locations: Midtown, SoHo, Herald Square

OLIO E PIÚ

This Italian restaurant will make you feel like royalty for the afternoon. The food, the atmosphere, the custom plates… it’s literally everything. The food is a bit pricier, but we promise the experience is worth it.

Location: Greenwich Village
