Staying Hot in The Coldest Months of The Year
Listen, we know the walk to the gym when it is snowing, raining, below 30 degrees, or all of the above is probably one of the worst things in the world. The weather this time of the year does not play well with our emotions, let alone our motivation. However, there’s a great workout that keeps you warm and (BONUS!) only requires a five second walk from your car to the studio: hot yoga.
You might ask, what actually is hot yoga?
This first thing you need to know is the difference between Bikram yoga and your typical hot yoga. Bikram is a type of yoga that was created and developed by Bikram Choudry. This practice is a little more intense; there are 26 poses, and the room is heated to 105 degrees with 40 percent humidity.
However, hot yoga is more flexible (pun intended) in its definition. This practice is your typical Vinyasa flow, yet the room is heated anywhere from 80 to 100 degrees with high levels of humidity.
The idea of getting super sweaty can be a little gross to some, but there are so many benefits to hot yoga. Not to mention, you become strong and flexible! Still not sold? Here are some of hot yoga’s benefits to persuade you to get into your nearest studio.
