Loungewear for the Weeks of Lounging that Lie Ahead
Unfortunately, the only thing that we can do in an effort to alleviate the damage that the coronavirus is doing to our people, world and the economy is to make the choice to stay home. Some suggest that for those working from home or taking online classes, changing into “real” clothes can increase productivity throughout the day. But for right now, and for the foreseeable future, many of us will be remaining in our sweats.
Here are some of our favorite loungewear retailers:
Talentless
Scott Disick’s clothing line is genuinely worth the hype and not just because he is by far the best member of the Keeping up with the Kardashians cast and a #1 dad. The clothes are decently priced, high quality, come in a wide range of colors and styles, and fit true to size. The site almost always has sales so that you can get at least 20% off your order. But, the best part about his brand is that there are plenty of options without logos—you can lounge in high quality stuff without being a walking billboard.
These “boxing shorts” are one of our top picks. They’re under $50 and offer a fresh alternative to those athletic shorts you’ve been hiding under your big sweatshirts.
2. Shadow Hill
Shadow Hill creates loungewear for the streets. The brand takes leisure clothing and makes it look way cooler than you thought grey sweatpants could even look. Although prices are a bit steep, if you’re looking for the sort of things that celebrities wear while grabbing coffee in downtown LA, this is it.
3. Unemployed Denim
Unemployed Denim is full of custom, one-of-a-kind apparel. And if you’re dying for a matching tie-dye set but don’t want the same one your friends all got at Target this season, you can splurge on one of these. Unemployed Denim has a lot more to offer than just tie-dye sets, so we recommend scrolling through their site. If you can’t find something you like, you can always customize!
4. Thrift Shops
A.k.a the best-kept secret for loungewear. Get out there and hit the local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Luckily, we live in a time where dressing like we’re from two decades ago is all the rage. So, go get yourself an oversized Harley Davidson sweatshirt that used to belong to a 65-year-old man, wash it, and strut your stuff. While buying overpriced tie-dye sets can be fun, if you really want something that no one else will have, start with thrift shops. It’s super easy to create your own style with second-hand items (when in doubt, crop it).
5. Gildan
You simply cannot go wrong with the original suppliers of elastic sweatpants. They are fine quality for their price. If something happens to your favorite pair, you can buy new ones without damaging your wallet. They’ll be at your door in two days with Amazon Prime, or you can find them at your local Walmart. No joke. You’re welcome.
