I Rented Clothes for Quarantine

Let’s be honest, we would be lying if we said we haven’t been wearing the same sweatpants and oversized hoodie for the past couple of days, maybe even weeks. But it’s okay—the judgment officially disappeared the minute we realized we don’t have anywhere to go.

It seems that we have been living in a parallel universe. Our normal routines are far from normal while homebound, rarely setting foot outside our homes.

And as it nears the end of the month, it’s time to pack up my monthly RTR rentals and go shopping for new ones.

This is the time when I normally look at my social calendar and take inventory of outfits I might need for the month. Unfortunately, my social calendar consists of nightly family dinners and Zoom calls with my friends— none of which require a special fit.

After thinking about it for a bit, I realized the opportunity that was in front of me. Saved in my hearted items page was a leopard print sweatshirt, which I had been dying to rent but had always felt silly wasting one of my monthly rentals on. However, quarantine presents the perfect excuse to rent all comfy clothes.

I went on a mission to find the most fabulous loungewear clothing that RTR had to offer, and boy was it fun. Here are some of my favorite finds:

Rent the Runway prides itself on being “a dream closet in the clouds,” ready to dress you for any and all happenings. Well, quarantine is the latest happening, and the RTR cloud closet is fully stocked with the most on-trend loungewear. From tie dye to monochromatic sets, RTR will have you feeling like your most stylish self in quarantine. And we all know a little renting-retail therapy is a huge pick-me-up.

Now you may be wondering why I go shopping for sweats. Well, dare I say, I am missing my normal routine. For me, getting dressed every day is a creative opportunity. It’s my morning stimulus. A good outfit is the first step to a good day.

Renting a couple new loungewear pieces from RTR is the little push I need to practice my normal morning routine. Even if it is just changing out of my pj’s into stylish comfy clothes. As silly as it may seem, it makes all the difference during these monotonous days, and it allows me to feel more motivated and be more productive.
