8 Foods to Help Your Skin Glow

Lemons

Lemons are filled with vitamin B, vitamin C and phosphorus. The natural acidity of the lemon helps remove dead skin cells and brighten aging spots. This cleans the pores without stripping the skin of natural oils.

Tip: Mix a spoon of lemon juice with an egg white and grape juice extract to make your skin super smooth and glowy!

Kale

Kale is the king of greens, and now it just may be the king of skincare too. It's loaded with vitamin C, A and K, which repairs skin tissue and prevents damage.

Tip: Add a handful of kale to any smoothie to get your daily dose of greens!

Potato

Potatoes can be used as a natural bleaching agent, which helps with unwanted dark spots. They also help get rid of dead skin cells, sunburns, blemishes and dark circles.

Tip: If you’re feeling brave, apply a face mask of grated potatoes and leave it on for around 30 minutes.

Oranges

The orange peel actually contains more vitamin C than the orange itself. The peel contains antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, so using an orange peel on your face should help clear up your skin quickly.

Tip: Mix one tablespoon of orange peel powder and two tablespoons of yogurt and apply to the face for about 20 minutes.

Avocado

Avocados are packed with antioxidants, such as beta carotene and lutein. They help soften and hydrate the skin if applied topically.

Tip: Mix an avocado and one teaspoon of honey and apply to the face.

Tomato

Tomatoes are filled with vitamins! Including vitamin A, K, B1, B3, B5, B6, B7 and C. They also contain an antioxidant called lycopene, which has intense anti-aging properties.

Tip: You can apply the pulp or juice of the tomato directly onto your skin to tighten pores and prevent future pimples. Tomatoes can also work as a natural sunscreen!

Beetroot

Beetroot is loaded with vitamins and minerals, which make the skin glow almost instantaneously. It has anti-inflammatory properties that also help prevent acne.

Tip: You could apply the beetroot juice directly to your skin, but it can sometimes leave a pink hue. You can also drink the juice to purify your blood and get rid of toxins.

Carrot

We all know carrots are great for your eyes, but they are also really good for skin. They can make the skin glow due to the large amount of beta carotene. This helps prevent the degeneration of cells. They promote collagen growth, reduce acne and dark spots and keep the tissue, eyes and bones healthy.

Even if you don’t see results in your skin right away, these foods are all incredibly healthy for you. Your body will thank you!
