Up Your Jewelry Game with Mixed Metals

There are so many reasons we love the two-toned jewelry look. It’s elegant and timeless—giving you the ability to dress up or down any look. Mix-matching metals let you dip into your jewelry boxes and make sure you’re wearing all of your pieces. Sometimes I fall into the habit of wearing the same jewelry every day Going for the two-toned look allows you to get out of the habit of wearing the same jewelry each day by incorporating pieces you haven’t worn in a while… Share the love!

So, how do you achieve this look? Sometimes it’s tough to know exactly how to balance your gold, silver, white gold or even rose gold pieces. Let’s break it down a bit.

One of our favorite jewelry brands Mejuri shared some insight from celebrity stylist Allison Bornstein on this exact trend. Allison suggests picking a focal color or your “hero color.” For example, let’s say your go-to jewelry is silver. Silver will then be your hero color, and if you want to show off a two-toned look for the day, you would incorporate one or two gold pieces as well.

If you’re layering silver necklaces, maybe add in a gold coin necklace to add variety for a more unique look. Or, you can stack your favorite silver rings with a gold dome ring as a statement piece. Try Mejuri’s Croissant Dôme ring, linked here

This isn’t an exact science. You can create your own look with your favorite pieces! Try out different combinations and don’t be afraid to put some quirky things together. That’s the beauty of mixed metals; you can coordinate different pieces even if they don’t match exactly. More often than not, it's a gorgeous look that totally stands out.
