Your Guide to Simple Gold Jewelry

Summer 2021 was the summer of colorful rings and chunky beaded necklaces. While we love color and the Y2K trend, we’re ready to elevate our jewelry game this fall and winter. Winter is a time for sophistication and simplicity. We’re often cooped up inside all winter long, and when we do go out, we don’t want to spend hours and hours getting ready, so it’s smart to invest in subtle pieces that you can wear all the time.

Silver versus gold is definitely a preference every woman makes sometime in her life, but here at The Edge, we love gold, especially for winter and fall. Gold is huge right now and has been for a bit, it’s timeless and effortless. But, the one problem with gold is that it rusts and wears overtime, especially when it gets wet. We have done extensive research on the best places to buy jewelry that won’t tarnish and won’t completely break the bank.

Here are some of our favorite places to shop for jewelry:

Mejuri

Mejuri has “fine jewelry for every day.” They have a great selection of very fine jewelry which can range from $300-$600. They also have more affordable pieces ranging from $30-$200. Their jewelry is all “from precious metals—from certified recycled gold and 18k gold vermeil, to ethically sourced diamonds and AAA-grade gemstones.” So you should expect your jewelry to last a very long time!

Gorjana

Gorjana is your one-stop shop for everything layering. Our most tried and trued necklaces are from Gorjana and they also have beautiful rings, earrings, and necklaces. Gorjana’s pieces can tarnish over time but we know from experience they will last in good condition for years: “All gorjana 18k gold plated pieces are protected with an anti-tarnish barrier.”

ALV Jewels

ALV Jewels is definitely on the cheaper side so don’t expect these pieces to last too, too long. We personally don’t have any jewelry from ALV but we know a lot of people who love them and say they haven’t seen their pieces tarnish yet, so be sure to check them out!

Kendra Scott

Kendra Scott has been popular for a minute now, and for good reason. Their pieces can definitely be a bit pricey but they last forever. We’ve had a bracelet that has been our go-to for almost 6 years now. Their southern-style is so classic and beautiful for any occasion.
