Start The New Year Off Right

Each year as the clock strikes midnight, we raise a glass and toast to what we hope will be the best year of our lives. 2020 was quite a letdown and 2021 was only a hair better. As we are quickly approaching 2022, let us take agency over our impending year and have an action plan in place to ensure that no matter what the world throws at us, we are equipped with ways to live our best lives right here in Elon, North Carolina. 

Fitness-related resolutions are the most popular, yet they are often made to be too restrictive and result in broken goals and hindered spirits. This year, make your fitness goals achievable and exercise for the sole purpose of improved physical and mental health because movement feels good no matter the method. One place to kick this plan into action is the Koury gym. Take a group exercise class or join a club sport. There are so many fun ways to be active and social on campus. The second most popular resolution is clean eating. This means something different to everyone and it can be achieved, but when making this resolution, keep the 80/20 rule in mind. Eating clean eighty percent of the time and enjoying life’s moments the other twenty will ensure that you live a balanced life. We are fortunate to have so many clean eating options available to us on campus. A few of our favorites here at The Edge include the salad bar at McEwen, Village Juice and Freshii. All three places have menus that are extremely customizable and make sticking to fitness goals and honoring dietary restrictions and food allergies a stress-free experience. 

Looking to unwind and relax this year? Treat yourself to a cup of coffee and a good book. Grab a new novel at the school bookstore and cozy up with a cup of coffee at Oak House!
