5 Spring Fashion Trends I HATE
1. Arm Warmers
OK, so these aren’t horrible and I know they definitely can look good on some people. But, in my eyes, these are the fastest fashion trends of the spring. I wouldn’t be surprised if we never saw them again. They’re not practical at all and only select companies are selling them right now. My advice is to save your money and skip out on arm warmers all together.
2. Colors...But Here Me Out
Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of colors. And obviously when spring rolls around every year, colors are everything. I especially love colors that are trending now, for example, green, orange, and hot pink. What I really hate involves bloggers in the fashion industry talking about how neutrals are out. Neutrals were HUGE this fall and winter as we all saw. Brown was the new black. No one can tell me brown and tan won’t still be huge this spring. I’m bringing my favorite brown jacket and tan lounge pants into spring for sure.
3. Low-Rise Denim
Whoever decided to bring low-rise denim back . . . I do not like you. I mean, is there anyone that actually likes low-rise anything?? Every insecurity I have about my stomach is raging at the thought of this. High-rise was so big for so long for a reason—women feel much more comfortable in it. It hides parts of our body we may not like and it makes our legs look longer. Who doesn’t want long legs? All I can say is, I will NEVER get rid of my high-rise jeans.
4. Cut-Out Trousers
So this is definitely . . . new. I’m here for cold shoulders, strapless tops, and distressed denim, but this just doesn’t make sense to me. It kind of looks like someone or something took a bite out of a pair of normal pants?? Not sure I’ll ever get on board with this one.
5. Sheer
So, of course, everyone loves a good sheer moment. I love sheer button-up tops and sheer dresses as much as anyone else. But, my problem with this is this: I feel like so many people don’t know how to style sheer. It’s definitely tricky, as you have to wear something under sheer that gives you coverage in the areas you need it, but doesn’t take away from the rest of the piece. Bralettes and slips are great for this. But, again, it has to be the right bralette or slip. So, I don’t exactly hate this trend, but I think it could be a little dangerous for some people.
