Your Guide to Thrifting Near Elon, NC

Here at The Edge, we know thrifting and secondhand is the new . . . well . . . new. Thrifting can be such an adventure, you never know what you’ll find, and it’s so cool to think about the person that may have owned the piece before you. Not to mention, it’s so much better for the environment. As you all probably have heard, fast fashion is not only killing the fashion industry but the entire world too. So next time you’re in the market for a new clothing item, think about shopping sustainably.

We’ve compiled a list of the best secondhand clothing stores for you to check out in the Burlington/Greensboro area next time you have some free time. And, we’ve checked out some of them ahead of time for you!

Muse in Graham

The Muse is definitely our first stop any time we want to shop secondhand. They are the best for vintage finds like these corduroy shorts and also carry amazing brands like Carmar and Levi’s. The employees are so helpful and knowledgeable, especially the spunky owner, Dionne Liles.

Sandy’s in Graham

Stop at Sandy’s after going to Muse right across the street in downtown Graham. Their store is huge with a large selection of literally everything. You definitely have to search a bit more here since their selection is so big, but you can find some treasures for sure!

Salvation Army in Burlington

Salvation Army is so close to campus and really does have a great selection. When shopping here, we recommend looking in the men’s, kid’s, and lingerie sections for the best-oversized jackets, cute kid’s graphic tees, and slip dresses/corsets. We have found some of our favorite pieces here.

Rumors in Chapel Hill

The owner of Muse, Dionne Liles, pointed us to this thrift store in Chapel Hill. They have a wide selection of trending clothes and they even have a website to browse.
