New 90’s Trends You’ll Be Seeing This Summer

Fashion trends always come and go, and some of them even come back! Fashion is always changing and creating new trends, but sometimes those trends are so good they need a second life.

And here’s where we cue the 90s. A decade devoted to the Spice Girls, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Nirvana songs. Aside from its historical pop culture, the 90s was also well known for its fashion. 90s fashion circulated around high waisted jeans and neon colors. These two trends are thriving in today’s fashion, but some 90’s trends have yet to have their striking comeback - yet. This summer we predict that there will be some 90’s trends that are resurrecting for the first time since that decade back into style.

Corsets

Corsets will be a huge fashion statement this summer. Truthfully, the history of corsets go back even further than the 90’s. Bridgerton on Netflix showed us that the waist clenching tops were the essential pieces during the Victorian era. However, corsets are worn differently than their original form, and you’ll definitely be seeing them this summer.

Corsets will strike differently this summer as they will cater a very versatile look. Corsets aren’t just waist trainers anymore, but they serve as legitimate shirts and bodysuit pieces. They can be worn under or over dresses or other tops, or they can serve as a shirt themselves. With so many variations of corsets, it’s easy to find one that will fit your style. Revolve has a huge selection of  different corset tops to choose from:

Windbreakers

It certainly doesn’t need to be windy to rock a windbreaker! The athleisure trend has skyrocketed in the last few years, making leggings the new jeans and sports bras the new crop tops. 90’s track jackets and windbreakers are going to be the new addition to athleisure wear this summer as they’ll provide a statement piece to your wardrobe.

Windbreakers usually come in a bright variety of colors, making it easy to add a pop of color to any outfit. Since they’re lightweight, they’ll be a great jacket to wear this summer as they’ll provide a breathable layer. Urban Outfitter’s is already caught up with the trend as they are host to several windbreakers ranging from unique bright colors to classic monochromatic patterns:

Wallet Chains

Not only are they a great addition to any outfit, but they’re practical! Not only do they make sure you won’t lose your wallet since it’ll be attached to the chain, but they’re a simple, yet stylish addition to your outfit. Wallet chains were a super popular accessory in the 90s. During that decade, wallet chains were aimed at people who liked the grunge and edgy look. Today, wallet chains serve as unique belt loop accessories.

Chains are in when it comes to necklaces, so why not accessorize your pants with some chains?! A wallet safeguard that’s a shimmering accessory is essential in today’s day and age. Forever 21 has a few wallet chains for sale on their website, in both gold and silver:
