Why Remi Bader is Worth the Hype

Tik Tok star Remi Bader started building her platform last September and has gained 1.3 million followers, become a curve model, worked with many popular brands, and been featured in Vogue and other extensive networks since. It's incredible how quickly Remi built her following and fame — it's an understatement to say she's made it. How does one even gain over a million followers in less than a year? Remi captured the heart and loyalty of her fans by becoming the queen of realistic clothing hauls.

Remi’s first few TikToks were recreating celebrity looks in a size 16, but then she started to gain more traction when she posted A “REAL” Plus Size Pretty Little Thing Haul. She’s continued the series reviewing brands such as Free People, Abercrombie, Revolve, and many more. In the videos, Remi records her real-time reaction trying on the clothes where she often sings, dances, and shares her opinion on the items.

Let’s face it — we’ve all had a “what the heck, this looked good on the model” moment after ordering online. But most haul videos tend to focus on the clothes that do work. This creates unrealistic expectations that everything's supposed to be perfect on your body. It can be discouraging not to fit or look good in something you order, but Remi finds a way to laugh it off.

The most alluring part of Remi’s platform is that she’s helping her viewers laugh and gain confidence, and her followers flud her comment section with love in return. Remi told Vogue that she’s “gotten thousands of messages that the hauls are making people feel more confident and happier,” and the feedback Remi has received has boosted her confidence and happiness. And it's not just plus-size women that Remi’s helping — she produces content for everyone regardless of size, age, color, or race. Remi said to Pop Sugar “I also notice more and more that it isn’t only curvy women that watch my content, but women of all sizes. You’d be surprised how discouraged skinny women can feel about shopping as well. I want to be there for them, too.”

Along Remi’s influencer journey, she’s received a lot of attention from big clothing companies. Hopefully, brands will listen to consumers' demand for larger sizes and fulfill all aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the future.

If you aren't following Remi yet, I don't know what you're waiting for!
