Highlights and Looks from the 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards
According to Variety.com, “The Crown,” “Ted Lasso” and “Mare of Easttown” took home a whopping 10 of the 12 acting awards during the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.
But, it’s not all fun and games. Diversity is not on the table: all major acting categories went to white actors in a year that had a record number of people of color who were nominated, 49 to be exact and nobody won. However, RuPaul is the most decorated person of color with 11 Emmys. Drag race won big this year!
Here are some of the top moments, awards, and outfits from the 2021 Emmys!
OLD HOLLYWOOD:
Anya Taylor Joy
“The Queen’s Gambit”
According to page six, “While the actress ultimately lost the award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie to Kate Winslet for “Mare of Easttown,” her Netflix show took home the gold for Outstanding Limited Series, as well as Outstanding Director for a Limited or Anthology Series.’
Taylor Joy is wearing a two-toned stunning yellow dress! She looks like she just fell out of a Beauty and the Beast storybook in her Dior Haute Couture and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. She finishes off the look with red Dior lipstick with a platinum blonde middle part. This old Hollywood look caught everyone’s eye this year. See her after-party lingerie-inspired look here.
REFINED
Elizabeth Olsen

Olsen’s dress was designed by her sisters the one and only twins Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, former Full House stars, and now owners of a fashion company, The Row. She stunted the red carpet in her old Hollywood wavy hair parted to the left, exposing her gorgeous dangling earrings by Chophard. Her lip is Chanel rouge allure laquer in fidelite which adds a pop of berry to the look along with the rust eyeshadow.

Anderson wore this sheek boho two-piece look with a fringe top. She pairs it with Rosewood lips, Charlotte Tilbury matte revolution lipstick in Super Fabulous, to be exact. She won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress Sunday night for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in Netflix’s “The Crown.
According to Insider.com, “after winning the award, Anderson was asked a series of questions by reporters, including one from Tanya Hart of American Urban Radio Networks asking if the Emmy award-winning actor had spoken with Thatcher about her performance.
"Well, I have not spoken to Margaret," Anderson responded, without pointing out the reporter's mistake.’’
