The Fashion Eras of Taylor Swift

As Taylor Swift begins her Midnight’s era, we are taking a moment here at The Edge to recognize all of the Taylors that have come before. With each album, Taylor reinvents her whole persona - whether it was a new hairstyle, new lip color or a new wardrobe, each time, over and over, she’s never missed.

When she released Midnight’s a few weeks ago, she promoted her albums with images of ‘70s nostalgia; the wood paneling, grainy photos, warm browns, high waisted pants, collared shirts and stripes perfectly matched her new music.

In 2006, Taylor debuted herself to the world through her very first album Taylor Swift, as a young country teen with bouncy curls, cowboy boots and ball gowns. Her songs were all about fairytale love stories of a small town girl. In Fearless and Speak Now, she grew her style into a more sophisticated red carpet look while giving us all the songs of “You Belong With Me” and “Enchanted.”

As she grew up, her style continued to evolve. With her debut of 1989, Miss Swift also debuted straight hair, bangs and her infamous red lip. She was no longer the cute country pop singer, but a new Taylor. When Reputation broke the billboard, Taylor had entered yet another era. Both edgy and chic - with avant garde cutouts and detailed silhouettes - she was simply badass.

Lover led to yet another 180. Everything felt whimsical. The rainbow and heart motifs were the beginning of another era. Yet, Folklore and Evermore brought in another Taylor - a quieter, more melancholy one. With cardigans, long coats, and loosely braided hair, we’ve seen a new, more “behind doors” version of the queen.

With each change, we love Taylor more and more. If you're just as excited as we are to celebrate and dance to all of Taylor’s eras with your best friends, don’t forget to pre register for tickets here!
