Elon Homecoming Week

Elon’s homecoming weekend is always a success and a great hit for the alumni coming back to celebrate. Whether it's alumni that just graduated last year or alumni who graduated 20 years ago, there is something for everyone.

Part of homecoming week was the big fall concert. Wednesday night, Tai Verdes performed in the Schar Center. Tai Verdes is a pop artist who is most known for his hits A.O.K, LAst dAy oN EaRTh, and Stuck In The Middle.

The concert had a decent turnout and a sophomore at Elon said; “I went with my friends to the concert and we had a lot of fun. It was great to be able to just walk down the street to see a concert from someone we listen to often.”

Since this concert was on Wednesday, most alumni hadn't arrived yet, but the concert was still a part of Elon's homecoming week.

The annual tailgate brought in many alumni on their trip back to Elon. The tailgate was held around Lake Mary Nell, and the school set up different tents for each class reunion. There were games and activities all around the tailgate, and current students went to enjoy the fun as well.

Homecoming weekend brought Elon sports great success across the board. Elon football won their game against University at Albany 27-3. On Sunday, November 6th, Elon men's soccer beat Drexel University 1-0 and won the CAA championship.

On Friday night, Young Commons held the annual Rock the Block block party from 5 to 9 p.m.  the block party had live music, food trucks, games and many different activities.
