History of Skims

Founded in 2019, Skims originally started as a shapewear shop. Now, in 2022, Skims offers loungewear and sleepwear on the website as well. Started by Kim Kardashian, Skims was included in Time magazine's top 100 influential companies in 2022! The company is now worth over 3.2 billion dollars and has continued to grow. Kim wanted Skims to be worn by any and all body types, which is why she offers sizes between XXS through 5XL. Her shapewear can even stretch to double its size!

So, you might be wondering how Skims came to be. Kim constantly struggled to find underwear and bras that supported and worked for her body type. She began experimenting with various styles of undergarments and even started sewing her own pairs. She perfected her products to ensure that she was putting out the most innovative and supported styles. Kim prices all of her pieces so that they are affordable and accessible to all. Her most expensive pieces are $98, and her lowest prices are $14. 

Not only is her clothing affordable, but she also offers a wide variety of shades. She provides nine shades that work with every skin tone; she wanted everyone to have an option. Kim understood that there was a market for Skims, and she ensured everyone could wear Skims.
