90’s Fashion Trends We Are Still Wearing
As many people know, trends consistently recycle. So, it's no wonder that trends from the 90s have maintained prominence in the 2020s. From corsets to strappy heels, we at The Edge are here to make sure you are up to date on all fashion trends and their histories.
1. Corsets
It’s safe to say that corsets are one of the most popular fashion trends circling mainstream fashion stores. Corsets are sold left and right from Urban Outfitters to Revolve to Alexander McQueen. Corsets not only elevate your outfit to the next level, but you also know that your purchase will not be outdated anytime soon.
2. Chainmail
Recently, we have been obsessed with this chainmail dress from Revolve. Chainmail clothing is stunning if styled right, but if styled wrong can end up looking tasteless or cheap. We love the way JLO styled her chainmail top in the picture above. A chainmail top with leather bottoms is effortless but striking.
3. Slip Dresses
From the 1930s to the 1990s to the modern-day, slip dresses have not gone out of style. Slip dresses can either be dressed up with heels or dressed down with sneakers. The versatile dress can be worn for bed, to go out, to run errands, and more - which must be the reason this chic look is always in style.
4. Strappy Heals
Strappy heels are not only a shoe but also a statement piece. The crossed-over straps add a sense of edge while keeping the outfit confident and chic. Strappy heels are our favorite way to make any formal attire trendy.
5. Leather Blazers
Leather blazers are all the rage these days, and with celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Winnona Ryder rocking them in the 90s, we know they were then as well. Leather blazers add a sophisticated yet edgy look to an outfit, and it's a closet staple we think everyone should have.
