The Color of 2022

Every year Pantone releases the Color of the Year. It is supposed to represent the current social movement or capture recent struggles in society. This year, Pantone aimed to choose a color that captures the global change induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We all have seen the color in Monica's apartment in the television series Friends, but its official name is Very Peri!

“Introducing the Pantone Color of the Year 2022, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri, a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet red undertone blends the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red,” Pantone shared in a tweet.

The executive director of the Pantone Color Institute said that the blue brings comfort and trust, while the violet-red undertones bring joy, courage, and imagination.
