The Silver Carpet That Gets The Gold

Every year the Screen Actors Guild Awards, also known as the SAG Awards, is hosted to honor outstanding performances in the movie and television industry. What has been held in Santa Monica California since 1952 takes over most televisions every February 13th. Awards are allocated to the best actor/actress, outstanding performance by a cast, best supporting role, and many more categories. This year the big winner was Squid Games winning 2 of the 13 awards.

Along with the actors who are nominated, the event is full of the top stars in Hollywood. Even though some don’t win trophies given out, we at The Edge have decided to give out our own awards for the fabulous outfits that walked the silver carpet. Our categories will include best dressed, best male outfit, best accessories, and best silver look. Although every star in attendance looked extravagant, just like the SAG Awards, there can only be one winner.

Best Dressed: Lady Gaga

In a stunning white column gown by Armani Privé, the best dressed award has to go to Lady Gaga. The simplicity but hint of lavishness is what sets Gaga’s outfit over the top. She maintained the simplicity of the look by wearing her hair down and natural with very minimalist makeup. However, to add just a little something more, she paired the already fabulous dress with an even more fabulous diamond, Tiffany & Co. necklace. Lady Gaga is known for her love of Tiffany’s diamond necklaces, and we’re pretty sure this won’t be the last time we see her in them.

Best Male Outfit: Jared Leto

Most men just wear the basic black or blue suit, maybe with a little touch of pizazz, but not Jared Leto. The best male outfit award without a doubt goes to the fabulous baby blue Gucci suit that the star wore. He maintained a cowboy look with his flared out, heavily creased pants, white cowboy boots, vest, and blazer thrown over his shoulder. However there was a bit of edge to the look with his glasses in his hand, giant red tie hanging from his collar, and pink lace sleeves peeking out of the white button up shirt.

Best Accessories: Selena Gomez

Even though Selena ended up barefoot in the award show, she still managed to have the best accessories. Her bit with Martin Short stole the attention of the audience, but her Bulgari necklace stole the viewers at home’s attention. The 1 million dollar choker contained more than 200 carats of diamonds. There were three layers of diamonds and a snake head at the front.

Best Silver Look: Sandra Oh

Since the carpet for the SAG Awards is silver, it seemed only fitting to have an award for the star who wore the best silver outfit. The winner of this had to go to Sandra Oh. In a beautiful, voluminous Carolina Herrera dress, she completely took over the carpet. The bow straps on the shoulders, the plunging V neck, and the layered, long skirt were all phenomenal. To make the look even better, she added a deep green handbag by Roger Vivier to give the smallest pop of color.

Over all, there were many breathtaking outfits, but just like the SAG Awards, we can only have one winner!
