A Natural Alternative to Botox

If you haven’t already seen the phenomenon on Tik Tok or Instagram, natural preventative wrinkle products are flooding social media. People are eager for a cheaper, more natural alternative to Botox or plastic surgery, while still achieving a young, wrinkle-free look. Brands like Frownies and Sio Beauty are changing the world of wrinkle prevention and social media is listening. Many of the brands have different application processes, but overall, wrinkle patches work by placing an adhesive patch on the face or body to keep the muscle from moving. Over time this process trains the muscle to not move as frequently, therefore limiting the cause of wrinkles, which is movement. Many people choose to wear the wrinkle patches at night for more long-lasting results. Some love wrinkle patches because they are cheaper and less invasive than Botox and other similar options. But, are wrinkle patches worth the hype? Here at The Edge, we did some research so you don’t have to.

The History of Wrinkle Prevention

The world of natural wrinkle prevention has been around since the early 19th century. According to the Frownies website, the patches were created in 1889 to smooth wrinkle lines and make women appear younger.

The Science Behind Wrinkle Patches

Wrinkle patches are effective by placing them on the skin for long periods, where it trains the muscle to not move. The less the muscle moves, the fewer wrinkles are created in the face. Wrinkle patches are a natural alternative to invasive Botox. Although there are completely different concepts, you may want to turn to wrinkle patches if you’re looking for something natural.
