Abroad Essentials
If you are lucky enough to be traveling abroad this summer, or possibly studying abroad next semester you know there is a lot of preparation in order. Depending on your location of choice and time span, packing overseas can be challenging when navigating through multiple seasons, destinations and cultural norms. Some of us might just be in need of that ultimate packing guide, and that is why we are here to help. Whether it’s Europe, South Africa, Costa Rica or Japan we have got you covered with the basic necessities you will need. Obviously, depending on your vacation or program, styles may differ. However, as a minimalist packer, you will most likely purchase a lot of items throughout your travels, so all you need are the essentials! We’ve got you covered.
Packing List:
Bras and Underwear (two weeks’ worth)
Socks (two weeks’ worth)
3 simple tanks (black, white, and colored)
A few long sleeve shirts (different styles i.e. fitted, ribbed, loose blouse, turtleneck)
Short sleeve shirts (different styles i.e. fitted, ribbed, loose blouse, turtleneck)
Oversized button-down
Sweatshirt/Hoodie (2-3)
Sweaters (2-3)
Jeans (2-3 pairs) (different styles and washes i.e. bootcut, distressed, high waisted)
Leather Pants
Dress pant trousers
Shorts (denim and nicer pair, i.e. leather, linen, dress pant)
Dresses (4 depending on different occasions) i.e little black dress, sundress and formal night time dress, white linen
A set or two of workout clothes
Pajamas
2 Swimsuits (for those going to warmer climates)
Coat/Jacket (recommend at least 2 – one for cold weather, and one for cooler weather and water-resistant)
Blazer
Denim Jacket
Sandals
Sneakers
Athletic sneakers
Dress shoes (loafers, wedges)
Heels
Walkable, water-resistant boots
Cold weather gear (i.e. gloves/ mittens, hat, scarf)
Any necessary accessories

Logistically we understand this is a lot to carry for the next 6 months but if you pack smart you are guaranteed to have a wardrobe that will last and have no items wasted.
