We are officially back at school. Long gone are the summer beach days filled with the joy of no classes. Life was good, it was easy. There was no stress, no meetings and no tasks. School was just a mere thought for the future. Well, now you're back. It’s the fourth week of school and we're all still adjusting. Trust me, it is hard. Here at The Edge, we're just settling in. Life is one crazy, fun mess. So let’s talk about how to navigate the one thing that goes with you each and every day: your backpack.

Chapstick

Chapstick is always a must. Whether it is chapstick, lip gloss or lipstick, anything works. It is important to always have a lip product to keep your lips moisturized on the go. We love Carmex Lip Balm, Dior Lip Glow Oil and Kylie Cosmetics. 

Journal

A journal is necessary for not only your backpack but in life. Journaling can help relieve stress, improve mental health and understand your thoughts. A journal can also be used as an agenda for writing down assignments and due dates for class. Our favorite journal is The Five Minute Journal. If you don’t want to spend the money, just repurpose an old notebook! 

Snacks 

Snacks are key; they make everything in life better. Here at The Edge, we are big foodies and huge snackers. School days can be crazy and often stressful. Some of us have hectic school schedules with little to no time in between classes. We recommend having snacks ready to go in your bag whether it be a granola bar, a bag of chips or an apple. It is so important to eat throughout the day so you feel energized, happy and healthy. 

Emotional Support Water Bottle 

Staying hydrated is so important. What’s a good way to do that? Get an emotional support water bottle! Why we call it “emotional support” is because you take it everywhere and you have some sort of this attachment with it, as crazy as it sounds. The TikTok trend is right. Headphones

Headphones are just a needed thing in everyday life. We need headphones to blast music, drown out passerbys or listen to our favorite podcast. Without headphones, the walk to class sucks. The silence is deafening. We love AirPods which are a little pricier and JBL Headphones for a more affordable option. 

Accessories

Accessories are pivotal in our back to school essentials. There is a large variety here. It can be claw clips, sunglasses, jewelry or hats that are the perfect addition to your backpack. It is always nice to add something to your outfit to give it a little extra glam!
