The Fall Forecast: Accessories
Fall fashion is in full swing everyone. While most of us don’t have the funds to buy a whole new wardrobe for this season (for help figuring out how to transition your summer pieces into fall outfits, check out this article ), a little accessory shopping never hurt anybody! We’ve been keeping up with Fashion Week trends and the fashion influencer front-runners to bring you some of our fall accessory must-haves.
THE boots
When we say THE boots, most people will know what we’re talking about. If not, get acquainted. These beautiful maroon boots started making noticeable appearances in peoples’ closets a couple of months ago. Maroon in general seems like it will be a very popular color this fall, and these boots will be leading the parade. They’re a great pop of color while still sticking to the tried and true ~neutral~ vibe of fall fashion. Kennedy Eurich just released a collaboration with Steve Madden earlier this month recreating the look, and we have been LOVING them. So, make sure to keep an eye out for boots like these, OR if you see a cute maroon accessory at the thrift store, pick it up just to be safe ;).
The Moon Bag
For all the astrology babes out there, this one's for you. The moon bag is kind of like a structured hobo bag, if you know what we mean. This bag is an evolved rendition of the baguette bag, which was oh-so-popular last year. One version of the moon bag we’ve seen at the top for a while is the Balenciaga Cagole shoulder bag, but let’s get one thing straight: NO ONE needs to be dropping two thousand dollars on a bag. There are so many brands making their versions of this bag (that are cuter and more versatile, in our opinion), so go get your favorite; we promise you’ll love it to the moon and back!
Futuristic Eyewear
We have been seeing a TON of Year 3000-esque glasses this season, from tinted lenses to literal alien goggles. They made their mark at New York Fashion Week earlier this month, and we see them being a cool piece to add interest to your outfit. Wearing a tame and tailored outfit with wacky glasses would be such a cool and unique statement for this fall, so do it <3.
Vintage Jewelry
Not only are we jumping into the future with this fall’s fashion, but we’re also throwing it back to the ~olden days~ with vintage jewelry. Vintage jewelry is always a good statement to make; it’s an elegant addition to any outfit that makes it more unique because they are harder to find. Watches specifically have been an accessory we’ve been keeping our eyes on. Go to a local thrift or antique store and get yourself some vintage jewelry to elevate your outfits this fall!
Honorable Mentions
We’re just so excited about fall fashion that we decided to add a couple of honorable mentions from last season that are making a reappearance this season as well.
Loafers
Thank GOD these are coming back. Loafers have been such a great addition to our closets and a fun way to switch up an outfit to make you feel more put together (because who wouldn’t want to look like they have their sh*t together).
Leather Jackets
Leather jackets were hot last season, and we don’t see them going anywhere. Throw one over a simple pair of jeans and a white top and you’re good to go—effortlessly cool.
Trench Coats
Trench coats also made quite the appearance last year, and we are excited to be wearing them again this season. You could even combine the leather jacket and trench looks with a ~leather trench~ for a bomb-ass outfit. Catch us rocking that this fall.
