Although this may sound like a silly little TikTok trend, the R.E.P.O.R.T. is a great way for people to showcase and inspire others with the little things that make each month so special. Here at The Edge, we’re always looking for a good recommendation that improves our overall well-being; whether that be a sweet treat or a new skincare product, we want to hear about it! If you’re looking for ways to bring a little more happiness into the month of October, you’re in luck because we’re hopping on the trend bandwagon and sharing The Edge’s monthly R.E.P.O.R.T.

Reading

If you are looking for a good read on self-improvement, “The Mindset of Psychology” by Carol S. Dweck is the perfect book. This book describes the fixed versus growth mindset and enables the reader to cultivate a growth mindset, which can improve various aspects of your life. The author provides real-life examples of how to apply this growth mindset into everyday activities, starting as simply as waking up and deciding to do that workout you’ve been putting off. Let’s face it: as college students, we could all benefit from integrating this mindset into our daily routines. Don’t miss out on this transformative read; we promise it’s worth every page.

Eating

At The Edge, we’ve been loving the convenience of one-pot meals. They’re so easy to whip up and perfect for meal prepping! Our current go-to dish we’ve made is a creamy sun-dried tomato, chicken and orzo dish. The best part about the one-pot preparation is it won’t leave your kitchen in shambles! This recipe is an ideal weeknight option, demanding minimal prep and satisfying all your roommates or providing delicious leftovers for the rest of the week. You can find the recipe here, and we hope you enjoy it just as much as we do — seriously, we can’t stop making this dish.

Playing

We don’t know about you guys, but we can’t stop listening to the latest Zach Bryan album. Each song seems to have its own story, whether it’s about heartbreak, friendship or joy. It’s one of those albums that never gets old, no matter how many times you blast it in your car or walk to class. Some of our favorites from the album are “Tourniquet,” “Spotless,” and “I Remember Everything.” If you haven’t listened to this album yet, this is your sign to check it out!

Obsessing over

One thing we’re obsessing over right now is playing pickleball with friends. It’s such a great way to stay active while having an absolute blast. If you’re anything like us, mastering the art of rallying and serving the ball is still a challenge, but it gets smoother with each game. Whether you’re in for an intense match with a bit of a competitive edge or just looking to sport a cute workout set and re-hash the latest tea with your friends, pickleball seamlessly combines fun with fitness. So, grab a paddle and give it a shot; you’ll see why we’re so obsessed.

Recommending

With cold weather approaching, it’s time to start prepping your skin. If you want to avoid dry skin at all costs this fall, we recommend investing in the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Moisturizer. This moisturizer is the perfect blend of all-natural ingredients, such as fruits, vitamins, and minerals that will leave your skin feeling so soft, not to mention it also smells amazing. This product gives your skin the perfect glow that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. Here at The Edge, we love all Fresh products and swear by this one.

Everyone deserves a little pick-me-up at the end of a long day or busy work week. We’re here to tell you about our favorite spot in Burlington to grab a sweet treat. The Peach Cobbler Factory at 1009 Piper Lane has the most delicious cobblers paired with creamy vanilla ice cream. And if peach cobbler isn’t your thing, don’t fret; they offer over ten different flavors, so we’re sure you’ll find one that satisfies your palate. If you’re a dessert enthusiast like us, this will be your new go-to spot this fall!

Sharing these snippets of joy can have a ripple effect, brightening someone else’s day or introducing them to something new.

We hope you’re feeling inspired to join in and share your own R.E.P.O.R.T. Together, let’s spread positivity and make every month a special one. Make sure to share yours with us @theedgemag on Instagram!
