Your Next Fall Reset Trip: The Adirondacks
Even though Halloween may be over, that doesn’t mean the fall season has come to an end. We still have the entire month of November, and we are not taking this beautiful time of year for granted. If you live in the Northeast and are obsessed with fall foliage, then you just have to take a drive up to the Adirondack Mountains, which are hidden in the wonderful state of New York.
This underrated spot not only has a diverse terrain of dense forests, crystal clear lakes, waterfalls and wildlife, but it also has delicious restaurants and relaxing spas for when you need a reset after all the midterm studying. You must visit Mirror Lake Inn Spa, which has a salon to get your hair done so you can go back to school with a new hairdo. And it offers a bunch of different treatments to rejuvenate after the hectic semester.
While you're there, we recommend taking a hike to Mount Arab, which is one easy mile climb and has a beautiful view of the lake. Mount Arab also has a fire tower and cozy cabin at the top to celebrate your journey! This hike is perfect for all non-hikers. It is less than two hours, and the view at the top is extremely rewarding. It truly is picture-perfect.
If you are a foodie like us, then you understand how important it is to enjoy all the delicious meals while traveling. Our first recommendation is The View, which is located at the Mirror Lake Inn. If you feel like treating yourself to a fancy dinner, then you need to go here. Their menu is made with local ingredients and is extremely unique. We recommend trying the risotto fritters, because who doesn’t love fried risotto?
Another must-visit restaurant has to be The Breakfast Club ETC. They offer a variety of comforting breakfast foods and fun morning cocktails that create the perfect environment for looking over at Lake Placid. With fresh buttermilk pancakes and a whole section dedicated to different types of eggs Benedict, you need to start your day here before a long hike.
So, whether you are from the South or the North, this beautiful spot is a must-hit to admire all the changing leaves and relax with people you love after a grueling first semester. The Adirondacks offer not just a retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but they also provide a gentle reminder that nature truly is healing.
