CFDA Awards Best Looks
At the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America, the fashion world was unprepared for all the glitz and the glamor that made it down the red carpet of the event. Hosted at the American Natural Museum of Natural History in New York City, this event is often referred to as the “Oscars of Fashion” highlighting all the achievements of individuals within the field of fashion design. With this being one of the most important events to celebrate the Designer of The Year and Model of The Year, of course some of the biggest names showed up to the event in their best attire. From Kim Kardashian to Serena Williams, having many of these go unrecognized would be a tragedy, so let's get down to business. Here are the top 5 looks that had us wishing we could attend an event just like this one.
Kim Kardashian
When in doubt wear black, and Kim K got the memo but brought it to the next level. On the red carpet, Kardashian wore a Chrome Hearts dress with a halter neckline and an open back. Chrome Hearts is known for its signature crosses and her dress was detailed with that making a simple black dress turn into something unique. She really brought out her gothic side with a messy bun and curtain bangs, a smokey eye and her glossy black manicure.
Demi Moore
Sequin is never out of style and Demi Moore truly rocked it this year on the red carpet. Moore was seen wearing a Carolina Herrera silver sequin dress with floral details. She truly was glowing with her long black hair and crystal blue eyes that just made the dress pop. She paired the dress with simple black heels. To accessorize, she added even more sparkle with diamond earrings and rings, and finished the look with a black clutch.
Anne Hathaway
Who said denim can’t be worn to an award show? Not Anne Hathway. She proved to us that denim can be worn in other ways besides wearing jeans for a casual day. Hathaway wore a two piece denim set from Ralph Lauren's Spring/Summer 2024 collection. On the top, she wore a bustier top made out of dark denim with a floral pattern. She paired the top with a flowing, floor-length light washed denim skirt with a painted floral design that cascaded behind her. She paired the denim ensemble with a Bvlgari jewel necklace, drop earrings, and a glamorous necklace to wrap around her left wrist.
Serena Williams
Serena Williams ditched the tennis racket and her typical U.S. Open attire for the most striking and elaborate look at this event. Williams made an appearance in a black sequined dress designed by Thom Browne. The dress included a hugged fit to show off the athlete's figure along with puff sleeves around her elbows and a long train. To make this look even more striking, she also wore a floral diamond necklace. Now that is definitely a look you show up in to receive the award for Fashion Icon!
Rosario Dawson
Floral patterns were definitely a popular look for this award show, but Rosario Dawson made a simple yet striking appearance with a floral element. Designed by Mara Hoffman, this strapless dress truly comes to life with a rosette design on the bodice of the dress. This elegant and sophisticated look won us over. With an ivory dress, you always need a pop of color. Dawson decided to pair the dress with Brother Vellie's red heels and a black clutch. Her makeup was spot on with a glittery eyeshadow look and red lips. Her unique and eccentric earrings also added a little spice to the dress.
