Jay Shetty: Who Is He, and Why Is He Such an Inspiration?

Jay Shetty is a former monk, storyteller, purpose coach and most famous for being a podcast host for his show, “On Purpose.” Expressing spirituality from a young age, Shetty’s passion is to convey the importance of healing and acceptance. His podcasts incorporate fascinating conversations with some of the most insightful people in the world. Shetty had an intense upbringing and experienced challenges regarding being directionless, depressed and confused about his passion.

In a consistent circle of being rejected for his mindfulness-based videos, Shetty knew deep down in his soul that his knowledge and perception of the world needed to be heard at large. This podcast was Shetty’s huge jump into the world of forgiveness and acceptance by giving his guidance to the world and using wonderful people to help expand his ideology of working through self-hatred. His words are instrumental and powerful, and he uses his dedication to find himself by mastering the mind, which manages negativity and overthinking. Mindfulness is his way of life, and these podcasts help his listeners expand this aspect of themselves to help them find their path and choose healing and growth — even if it's challenging. A strong sense of self is vital in leading you through life. Life is a struggle, and each hour of the day that passes by is an accomplishment that you are doing your best to get through life.

Jay Shettys' most recent podcast was posted on October 16 and showcases Jada Pinkett Smith communicating how to move from shame to self-acceptance and ways to heal from the past. This episode is powerful, vulnerable and transformative not only for Smith but for Shetty’s audience. Smith shares her insight on her marriage, shedding light on her never-heard-before truths, and reflects on her inner self to find the appreciation and self-love we know we deserve.

Smith is an actor, producer, mother and recent author whose journey has been stuck with the struggle to find authentic happiness. She understands that from an outside perspective, her life might seem perfect with the fame, wealth, and comfort. But underneath, she is in more pain than anyone could imagine. She stated, “Once you're famous, you're expelled from the human experience.” She examines how some might perceive her life as easy, but her journey ended up with fame and left out being human. She essentially felt shameful for feeling lost or depressed because, from an outside perspective, her world looked glamorous and perfect. Her inner world was not stable, which resulted in her life crumbling.

Smith has recently published her book called “Worthy,” a biography of her inspirational journey. She expresses how people's narratives are taught from so many different angles apart from their own, and she realized that telling her story is important and should be heard. She examined her life growing up with a teenage mother who was an addict and how that shaped her today. A big sister and mother relationship comes with the responsibility to grow up at a faster rate. Jada had to come to terms with that she was not the priority to the two people who gave her life, which is a massive reality to overcome. She discusses the importance of marriage and its partnership in terms of commitment and security. She dives into the transformative power of embracing greater self-love to conquer life’s challenges.

We highly encourage all our readers to listen to this episode and other episodes on Jay Shetty’s podcast; everyone will gain some insight on the human experience.
