Welcome Back, Rihanna

It’s not everyday that we find ourselves alongside 113 million people, tuning into the country's most watched sporting event. While the men in our lives had their full attention on the game, us women had one focus and one focus only: Rihanna. It’s hard to believe that we’ve gone so long without seeing her in the spotlight, but if there’s one thing we know, it's that RiRi has done it once again — rocking the world of fashion and taking us all by storm. 

As soon as the cameras hit her, Rihanna took our breath away. She wowed in not one but two monochrome looks for the night. Her first was a utility catsuit designed by Johnathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe, which she wore under a red leather breastplate corset by the Spanish fashion house. It’s hard to believe that anything could outshine the more than $1 million worth of diamonds that she wore, but we would argue her look was shining brighter.  As if her first look wasn’t enough to leave us speechless, her custom puffer coat designed by Pieter Mulier of Alaïa did just the trick. We were highly anticipating a dramatic look from our girl, and she certainly did not disappoint — nor has she ever. It’s been eight years since she debuted this dreamy gown at the 2015 Grammys, and we haven't stopped thinking about it since. Rihanna debuted this Dior gown at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, a work of art that is timeless and simple and a change of pace for her usual stand out avant-garde ensembles.

There was no better way to kick off the 2023 awards season than with this Schiaparelli gown, custom made by Daniel Roseberry. From the 26-carat Cartier necklace, to the dramatic velvet cape and gloves, this look is the old Hollywood look full of sophistication, elegance, and allure that we’ve missed out on over the past few years while Rihanna stepped back from the limelight.
