New York Fashion Week Favorites

This past week, our social media content has been compromised by the ever-so-fascinating Fall/Winter 2023 New York Fashion Week — the perfect kick-off to a new and exciting fashion month. The fashion industry is seriously stepping up its game with an extravagant finesse that the new year is bringing us. New York is not playing around by setting the standards high and stirring up fashion designs we didn’t see coming.

We're here to highlight the best and most communicative runway looks of the 2023 New York Fashion Week that will blow you away. Get ready for some insane glam and chic looks!

THE PRIME OF PEPLUM

It might be your least favorite or favorite recurring 2010, trend but it's back and better than ever. The strong return of peplum is a prime example of a style that was once forbidden to ever wear again but is now the most outgoing piece of clothing one can wear in the year 2023. Many famous designers and brands made convincing arguments in their New York Fashion Week shows, specifically at the Tory Burch runway show. Emily Ratajkowki wore a black peplum corset top with a triangle-shaped lace panel, a finely scalloped edge and hook and eye fastenings. The extraordinary fashion icon Emily Ratajkowi presents a new look that is fresh and unexpected for the Tory Burch brand.

NO PANTS, WHY NOT

The pantless trend is the most talked about concept in the fashion industry. The initial freeness and representation that this new fun look gives women is inspirational and a turning point for the fashion industry. Designers like Prabal Gurung, Christian Siriano and Puppets joined in this latest new trend with all sizes of models walking pantless down the runway. An insight into the pantless trend is to create a dynamic feature on top that can be balanced out with the simplicity of a pair of sheer tights.  We want to focus on Chrisitan Seriaano’s pantless look of a model wearing black underwear layered with sheer tights, a black double-breasted blazer with shoulder padding and a fuchsia lapel. This look was an ode to the fashion icons for normalizing that bottoms aren't a must to pull an outfit together.

ROSE TAKEOVER

In the case of roses and floral incorporation in a designer's lookbook, the artists have truly taken a step up. We bet that you have been seeing the flower collars that everyone is adding to their street-style looks.  Many designers are adding rose applique detailing to their runway pieces. A pop of detailing that adds dimension and eye-catching essence is the initial goal for most designs this new year. But, the brand that stood out the most in the rose and floral era this New York Fashion Week was Carolina Herrera. A collection that represented the romantic depiction of nature and beauty, Carolina Herrera’s show had the most stunning collection and was executed with excellence.

HEAVY USAGE OF LEATHER

The vintage, distressed, rock and roll oversized jackets are the new sensation of 2023. But, New York Fashion Week brought to our attention a developed usage of the vintage leather look by transforming the material into a long dress. The designer that truly brought this creation to life was Brandon Maxwell. The material provides a unique versatility that fits any occasion and is the perfect spice and sexiness that everyone needs in their style.

The New York Fashion Week of 2023 definitely gave us the best setup for the new year with the most extravagant new styling pieces that give the next upcoming fashion shows a run for their money. Now, we wanna see you all in these fun outfit ideas!
