Scalp Care Stays: The Year of Scalp Health

Scalp care is often overlooked. Most people think that shampoo and conditioner are all they need for healthy hair, but that is surprisingly not the case. Scalp care is just as important as skincare. Your scalp needs more love than you think! There are so many great products out there for your hair and scalp to implement into your daily hair routine. Whether it is scalp serums, scalp masks or scalp scrubs, all are great. We at The Edge are here to share the best products to help take care of your hair!

Scalp Serums

Scalp serums are meant to hydrate the skin beneath your hair. They help rejuvenate and clean the scalp. This is a popular solution for people with dry or oily scalps, or for people that deal with itchiness or flakiness. So, if this is you, we highly recommend this option. Be sure to look for natural ingredients in a scalp serum like aloe vera, oils and apple cider vinegar. Avoid chemicals, parabens and sulfates in the serum as that can damage your hair and irritate the scalp.

Here are some of our favorite scalp serums:

Scalp Scrubs

A scalp scrub is as simple as it sounds. It is a scrub just like an exfoliant for your face and body but instead it is for your scalp. Scalp scrubs remove dirt, excess oil, dead skin cells and buildup at the root of your hair. Scalp scrubs are incredible and work for all hair types. Be careful with how often you use a scalp scrub; it should be used no more than twice a week for very oily hair. If it is used too often, a scalp scrub can remove natural oils and can aggravate your scalp.

Scalp Masks

Scalp masks are a hair care product applied to your hair and scalp. Weird, right? A scalp mask? It’s true — scalp masks really work wonders. They help to soothe dry scalps, moisturize and reduce dandruff. Applying a scalp mask is simple. You should distribute the mask evenly throughout your hair, using a comb if preferred, and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then, we recommend washing it off in the shower. Depending on your hair type, you can use a mask up to a few times a week.
