Euro Summer Style Guide

Alas, it’s summer once again! Since many of us will spend most of our three months working or interning, even the smallest vacation time is necessary. In case you haven’t seen it plastered across your TikTok FYP, it's the so-called “European summer.” Even if you won’t have the opportunity to actually cross the Atlantic, your style can still emulate that effortlessly chic boho and Mediterranean aesthetic. Queue the Mamma Mia soundtrack, we’re about to dive into the European summer essentials.

Maxi Dresses

Let’s beat the heat with summer’s most powerful tool, a good maxi dress. It’s essential to find one that is light and loose, for both optimal comfort and coolness. DISSH has emerged as the hotspot for everyone’s summer wardrobe, housing a collection of elegant linen dresses such as the ASYM Midi dress. Neutrals are always a must for this time of year, but blue is the color of this Euro summer season. We love the Lulani Dress from Shop Doen, such a charming silhouette in this rich lapis blue pattern- giving all of those Santorini vibes.

A Flat Shoe

Whether you’ll be strutting the cobblestone streets of Rome & St. Tropez, or simply need a more comfortable shoe for a walk around your neighborhood, a flat option is a must. Cushion is key and these slide sandals in canvas and leather from J. Crew are definitely not lacking in that department, plus they give the same classic feeling as our favorite Hermes Oran sandals for just a fraction of the price. A platform espadrille is a perfect alternative for our girls who love a little added height, which is why we have chosen the Greeca Sandal by Schutz for our lookbook.

A Carry-it-all Carry-on

Overpacking seems to be a common talent of all of ours so we know the importance of a hefty carry-on bag. This Montauk Tote is the quintessential bag, ideal as a carry-on for your next plane ride or as a weekender for your next long weekend. Equipped with adjustable straps and plenty of room for all of your belongings, we know this bag will be your favorite travel companion.

Elevated Basics for Daytime Adventures

If one thing’s for certain, it's that you most definitely will not be lacking in the exercise department on your European getaway. From hour-long tours to endless sightseeing excursions, you will be walking quite a bit, just another reason to pack accordingly which is why we recommend including plenty of relaxed garments that you can move and groove in. In Europe casual is never really casual, so always remember that it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed. Elevate your plain white tee with this Dusk Knit Top from Reformation, and your joggers or cargos for an eclectic trouser like the Maeve Cropped Wide Leg Carpenter pant from Anthropologie. Having trouble piecing together a cohesive look? Make your life easier and invest in this La Dolce Vita set from Free People, a cool and dreamy look that is quick and simple.

Swimwear

No matter what you’re doing this summer, at one point or another you’re gonna need a good suit. We love the Domino Swim one-piece by Hunza G in this stunning blush pink, a staple swimsuit that will last you for years to come. Pair this suit with a fun cover-up for a nice relaxing beach day. We love Solid and Stripes’ Oxford Eyelet Tunic, a unique option to change up the typical Ralph button-down rotation.
