New York Fashion Week Unveils the Fashion Trends For the Fall

When fashion week hits NYC, it becomes the ultimate fashion playground. It’s the moment when the streets and runways pave the way for the chicest looks we’ve seen. Not only does this week bring the glitz and the glamor, but it’s also where the season trends are born. Along with spotting some of the top designers, the runway showcased fall trend previews we didn't see coming. Let’s just say, from what we saw, it's definitely a combination of bold colors and a comeback for many nostalgic trends.

All Things Red For The Season

Wearing red is always a good option especially when you want to stand out from the crowd. However, you no longer need to keep your red clothes and accessories for special occasions. Following New York Fashion Week, it's apparent that red will be the go to color for everyday occasions, whether that means heading to class or enjoying dinner and drinks with friends. From Tory Burch to Theory, it's clear that red stole the spotlight. You don't have to be a runway model to confidently flaunt this vibrant color. Dress up in red with a bold Musier Paris top, or spice up your business casual look with a pair of Simon Miller Jabber Pants.

Pointed Heels with Buckle Straps

Do you want to keep it extra classy this season? If you truly want to stay on top of the trends, it's essential to have a pair of slingback pointed-toe heels in your collection to complement your dressy attire. We saw these styles of shoes everywhere, from the streets of NYC to the MIU MIU runway. And, don’t worry; you don’t need to drop a fortune just to wear these shoes. Opt for the Nimes Denim Buckle Heels by Jeffrey Campbell or the Sadie Heel from Tony Bianco.

Loafers

Loafers can sometimes be a little intimidating to wear as they can make you either appear exceptionally trendy or out of sync with current fashion trends. For the fall, designers from fashion week have reinvented the typical loafer, making it more youthful and fun. Eva Chen, an American journalist, proved that loafers can exude style when she was seen confidently wearing a brown and black knitted skirt along with a pair of loafers while strolling the streets of Manhattan near the Proenza Schouler NYC store. It wasn’t just Chen who showcased the loafers. Other attendees rocked their classy pair of loafers while walking the city streets. Whether it's skirts, jeans, or dresses, these shoes make for a perfect addition to your collection. Complementing everything, you have the freedom to dress them up or down. We especially love Laurs Lug Sole Loafer from Sam Edelman and the Jhenne sneaker loafer from Dolce Vita.

Button-Down Blazer Tops

A blazer is a wardrobe staple, but fashion week challenged our perception that it should only be worn in professional work or academic environments. Blazer tops are in and we love it. They are sleek, sophisticated, and a little edgy to make for the perfect business chic outfit. Whether you're pairing them with jeans for a casual daytime rendezvous or dressing them up for a night out, blazer tops are the ultimate fashion staple for the fall. Also, New York Fashion Week showed us that blazers can come in all colors and styles including options like the Tailor City Vest by Maeve and the Billie Linen Vest by Reformation.
