Seasonal Skincare

As the seasons change, so do our skincare needs!

Here at The Edge, we believe that knowing how to take care of your skin throughout the seasons is crucial. From the hot, sunny summer days to the chilly, dry winter air, you can combat dryness, protect against sun damage, and preserve that perfect glow by embracing the unique features each season brings.

Seasonal skincare is all about adapting your routine to match the changes that come with each season, leaving your skin healthy, hydrated and radiant year-round.

As the temperature drops and the winter months roll in, our skin can be left dry, dull and often irritated. The cold air and decrease in humidity, combined with the dry indoor heating, can strip away moisture. In these colder seasons like fall and winter, it's crucial to focus on one thing.

Hydration.

The colder months are the ideal time to layer and try out new products. Nourishing and rich moisturizers are an ideal addition to your winter routine. During this time, lightweight products might not be enough to keep your skin hydrated against the cold and dry weather. Prioritize having  “gentle” and  “moisturizing” cleansers, so you don't further dry out your skin. Sunscreen is still just important during these months. SPF of at least 30 should be included in your routine year-round to prevent any sun damage to your skin.

Speaking of SPF, during the summer months one of the priorities in your routine should be sun protection. Sun damage to the skin can cause wrinkling, premature aging, uneven pigmentation and skin texture

Lightweight products are ideal during this time especially if layering products. The summer months are focused on achieving the perfect glow without looking or feeling greasy in the summer heat. Light layers incorporating lots of hydration are essentially ideal for combating the effects of the heat.

Hydration is still key, but richer products with the heat, humidity and sweat can cause clogged pores and breakouts.

And who wants that?
