The Power of 3's
Packing: the ever-so-dreaded to-do. We all want options, we all want to look our very best and we all want that bag to make it through the luggage weight-in check without paying a ridiculous overweight fee. Unfortunately, we’ve all been there (some probably more than once), guilty... so trust us — there is absolutely no judgment here. Regardless, as easy as it may seem for some, packing is a task that was simply sent from hell, especially for us fashion connoisseurs.
This stress is something that we overpackers need to conquer, and soon. Spring break is just around the corner, so let's master the art of packing before then. Fortunately, we at the Edge have found the solution: “the 3-3-3 packing rule." This hack entails packing just three tops, three bottoms and three pairs of shoes (three accessories can’t hurt either, but let’s keep that between us). We know this may seem daunting to those who believe they need enough outfits to last them another extra week, but surprisingly enough, the 3-3-3 method sets you up for an entire wardrobe with twenty-one outfit options to choose from.
Let's begin. In our opinion, the best way to go is to bring three staple tops that are easier to style. For example, steer clear of bolder patterns or anything that may be harder to style, but do not be afraid to still have a little fun with it. The best way to go about this is to incorporate fun tops that consist of one color. So, here are some ideas:
Now, for bottoms:
And last, but not least, shoes!
As for accessories, be as creative as you can! Even though the goal of the 3-3-3 packing method is to be practical, it does not (and should not) mean your fits can’t be fun and fab. Here at The Edge, we challenge you to try the 3-3-3 method for your next trip. Cheers to a stress-free packing experience — tag us @theedgemag with your favorite travel tips and tricks!
