10 Simple Ways to Get a Better Night’s Sleep

Are you feeling sluggish after coming back from spring break? Us, too. As college students, we sometimes forget how important it is to get a good night’s sleep. Sleeping boosts your immune system, improves your mood, and enhances your performance of daily activities throughout the day. So, here are 10 simple tips to ensure that you will get a better night’s sleep:

1. Read a book.

Jumping into bed and diving into a book can help you relax your mind and help your body wind down.

2. Brush and floss.

This one is obvious, but it will always make you feel clean and fresh before getting into bed.

3. Lay out your outfit for the next day.

Getting a jump start on the next day’s outfit will save time, ease morning stress, and help you avoid a potentially messy room the next day.

4. Stretch.

Stretching out your muscles can relieve tension in your body and help kick you into relaxation mode.

5. Go to bed 15 minutes early.

Although it doesn’t seem like much at night, 15 more minutes in the morning goes a long way.

6. Remove your makeup.

Your skin will thank you for taking off all of the oils and toxins by looking and feeling fresh the next morning.

7. Write down what you’re grateful for.

Keeping a gratitude journal by your bedside can help you wind down your mind and reflect on the joyful things in your life.

8. Meditate.

Taking time to clear your mind is great way to relax right before bed.

9. Put down your phone.

Separating yourself from your device will help you mentally unplug and get to bed earlier.

10. Keep a consistent bedtime.

This will make it so much easier to keep with healthy habits.
