Tis The Season!
It’s that time of year again! Fall is slowly but surely coming into full swing, and fall festivals are right around the corner!
From hot apple cider to apple picking and carving pumpkins, fall festivals have always been a hit at this time of year. Now that fall is officially here, it’s time to break out the jeans, boots, and of course flannels, and head on over to the festivals!
We all know the familiarity of the Elon Bubble. Little do a lot of students know, however, that beyond the borders of the bubble there lies an array of events during the fall and holiday season!
Ingram’s Fall Festival is just one of the many festivals that are taking place in the Elon area. Ingram’s Strawberry Farm is located in High Point, only 36 minutes away from Elon. Last year was the first year that Ingram’s put on the fall festival.
The festival was a hit, so now they are back for more in their second year of the festival, occurring on October 14thand 28th! (Ingram’s Fall Festival Facebook Event Page).
According to the Ingram’s Fall Festival Facebook Event page, the festival is going to have “live music, farm education, an apple sale, a huge assortment of [their] fall goodies, the pumpkin patch, vendors and might even have a surprise visit from the guys with the big red trucks”. Parking and entrance are free as well, and all prices are based on the activities that you want to participate in.
In addition to Ingrim’s Fall Festival, Smith Hollow Farm is also hosting a fall festival. While a little farther than Ingrim’s, the Smith Hollow Farm’s Fall Festival located in Kernersville, offers an even larger variety of fall activities and events.
With a “corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride, 30+ activities, face painting, animal viewing & more”, there are certainly a number of activities that make the drive to Kernersville well worth it.
The Smith Hollow Farm Fall Festival & Corn Maze is open every Saturday and Sunday in October, giving us busy college students plenty of opportunities to make it out there and embrace the fall spirit!
Whether it’s a trip to Ingrim’s, Smith Hollow, or any of the other festivals that are going on this fall, don’t forget to take full advantage of the corn mazes, pumpkin pie, and caramel apples before the winter holiday season arrives! I know I will!
